Lawn Boy Precision® Series : Z3500 HLX

Just thought that some people might not know that Lawn Boy does have Zero-Turn Mowers. The one that I will be talking about today is the Precision Series – Z3500 HLX.
The Price is around $3700.00 US dollars. The mowers engine is a 21Hp Kawasaki Engine. The Kawasaki Engine is a twin cylinder engine. It has full pressure lubrication, electronic spark ignition, automatic compression release, dual element air cleaner and cast iron cylinder liner.

The unibody steel frame provides the optimal in rigidity and flexibility.

Like most commercial mowers it has a dual hydrostatic drive system, which I have had plenty of experience with these systems and they are extremely durable.

The Z3500 has a 50” deck is deep making a lot of vacuum, these deep decks cut tall grass much better.
You can adjust the deck with Lawn Boys’ foot assist height of cut (HOC) system.

The seat has a 18” high back rest which will really support your back and really has a thick pad. This seat is really comfortable. The seat also has adjustable armrest!

The mowers top forward ground speed speed is about 7 mph which is not the fastest mower but not the slowest ether.
The fuel tank on this mower is only 3 gallons which is small if you were mowing big lawns. Most of your commercial mowers have at least a 7 gallon tank.

As usual, Lawn Boy has their awesome 3 year limited warranty to stand behind you.

Bad Boy Mower History

Bad Boy, Inc. began in 1998 with the sole purpose of producing the Bad Boy zero-turn commercial lawn mower. Their research team started working with one goal in mind to develop the strongest, most durable zero-turn mower available and to deliver excellent quality of cut, reliability, productivity and comfort.

The first Bad Boy Mowers were produced in a small shop in Diaz, Arkansas. The incredible popularity of this highly productive, durable unit has forced Bad Boy Mowers into rapid expansion. Bad Boy Mowers has expanded its facilities numerous times in the last several years. Bad Boy Mowers are now manufactured, assembled, and stored in multiple facilities comprising over 200,000 square feet in Batesville, Arkansas.

Bad Boy Mowers innovation and attention to quality has rapidly earned respect throughout the power equipment industry. Bad Boy Mowers and accessories are designed to be user friendly, with an emphasis on ease of maintenance, profitability and long life.

Their employees work hard every day to ensure that customer’s expectations show in the quality of the Bad Boy Mower products. Each Bad Boy Mower employee knows that a total commitment to quality is a vital part of our ongoing success.

Their vision for the future is to become the “Bad Boy” of the commercial mowing industry by continuing to work with the experts in the commercial turf industry to provide our customers with a superior performing machine second to none in power, durability and accessibility.

I have had the privilege to use one of these mid mount mowers. I was highly impressed with the way it cut but more impressed with how heavy it was built. I personally believe that this is the easiest mower to work on that I have ever seen, The Hydro pumps are wide open from top of mower but protected from below. Fuel tanks swing out of the way to get to the maintenance points on the mower. It also has front and rear rubber compression shocks (Four Wheel Suspension) making the ride more comfortable. My opinion is that when the Professional Lawn Care Market sees this Bad Boy the market will literally explode.

Mid Mount/Zero Turn Mowers

A Mid-Mount commercial mower is a mower that puts the riders feet resting about center of the cutting deck and hips just right in front of the rear pulling wheels. The steering is usually two long pivoting handle bars or a type of joy stick. The drive system is usually consists of two hydraulic pumps and two hydraulic motors attached to the pulling wheels. These mowers can either be powered by gas or diesel engines. Most mid mounts have two fuel tanks positioned on the right and left side of the operator. The newer mid mounts are coming with 2-wheel and 4-wheel suspension system to give it a much better ride. These mowers really perform well making it easy on the operator. These mowers can cut a lot of grass and are second only to stand-ons in taking up the least space.
